Spectramast DC Injection is an ANTI-INFECTIVE injection of Ceftiofur Hydrochloride Group of zoetis animal health company, one of zoetis pharma vet company’s best products. SPECTRAMAST DC (ceftiofur hydrochloride) Sterile Suspension provides a broad-spectrum label to treat the most common bacterial pathogens found in dry cows on modern dairies, including Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus dysgalactiae and Streptococcus uberis.

Each 10ml contains :
- Ceftiofur Equivalents (as the hydrochloride salt)…… 500 mg
- Microcrystalline Wax …… 700 mg

Spectramast DC use
SPECTRAMAST DC is indicated for the treatment of subclinical mastitis associated with Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus dysgalactiae and Streptococcus uberis in dairy cattle at the time of dry-off.
Treatment: Wash thoroughly with warm water containing T Suitable dairy antiseptic. Dry the nipples thoroughly. udder milk completely. Using the alcohol pad provided, wipe off the end of the affected nipple using a separate pad for each teat select desired insertion length (full or partial) and insert the tip into the nipple canal; Push the plunger to extract the entire contents, and massage a quarter Dispense the suspension into the milk tank.

Infuse one (1) syringe into each affected quarter at the time of dry off

Spectramast DC withdrawal times
RESIDUE WARNINGS:
- Milk taken from cows completing a 30-day dry cow period may be
used for food with no milk discarded due to ceftiofur residues. - Following label use, no pre-slaughter withdrawal period is required
for neonatal calves born from treated cows regardless of colostrum
consumption. - Following intramammary infusion, a 16-day pre-slaughter
the withdrawal period is required for treated cows. - Use of this product in a manner other than indicated
under DOSAGE might result in violative residues
Reinfection:
After successful treatment, reinfection may occur unless good
herd management, sanitation, and mechanical safety measures are practised.
Affected cows should be watched carefully to detect the recurrence of infection
and possibly spread to other animals.
Precaution:
Following intrauterine infusion with antibiotics in lactating cows, milk obtained during treatment and during the weaning period should be properly discarded and not fed to calves.
SpectraMast DC is for use only in lactating dairy cattle with mastitis associated with the specified labelled pathogens.
To ensure responsible antimicrobial drug use, it is expected Subclinical mastitis will be diagnosed using a positive culture or other pathogen-specific tests in addition to any other appropriate veterinary medical evaluation prior to treatment.
Cows with systemic clinical signs due to mastitis should receive other appropriate therapy under the direction of a licensed veterinarian.
After successful treatment, re-infestation can occur unless good herd management, sanitation and mechanical protection measures are practised.
Affected cows should be observed carefully to detect the recurrence of infection and possible spread to other animals.
