How to Keep Wasps Away: Natural Remedies and Tips for a Sting-Free Summer

Wasps are attracted to sweet smells, bright colors, and areas where food is present,

so avoid wearing perfume or brightly colored clothing when outdoors, and keep food and drinks covered.

Seal any cracks or gaps in your home's exterior to prevent wasps from entering and building nests.

Hang fake wasp nests near your home to deter real wasps from building nests in the area.

Wasps are territorial and will avoid areas where they think other colonies are already established.

Plant herbs and flowers like mint, lemongrass, and eucalyptus, which have natural repellent properties that can keep wasps away.

Use essential oils like peppermint, clove, and lemongrass as a natural wasp repellent.

Mix a few drops with water in a spray bottle and spray it around your home and outdoor areas.

If you do encounter a wasp, try to remain calm and still. Don't swat at it or make sudden movements, as this can provoke the wasp and cause it to sting.

If you are stung by a wasp, remove the stinger as quickly as possible and apply a cold compress to the affected area to reduce swelling and pain.

In extreme cases where a wasp nest is causing a danger to you or others, it may be necessary to hire a professional exterminator to remove it safely.
